SPAR’s Luxury Mince Pies Win at BBC Good Food’s Christmas Taste Awards 2020

Our client SPAR’s luxury mince pies have won at the BBC Good Food’s Christmas Taste Awards 2020. The awards are blind tasted by an expert panel of BBC Good Food judges. SPAR’s mince pies reigned supreme; beating off competition from all major supermarkets.

The judges said about SPAR’s mince pies: “These pies have a lovely golden colour and crumbly, buttery pastry. The filling is sweet and jammy, with chunky pieces of plump, soaked fruit and a good hit of citrus from the candied peel.”

Quality Food Awards Winner 2020!

We’re delighted to report that our client Dapur Mariae has won the Small Producer Award 2020 at the Quality Food Awards for their wonderful homemade Malaysian sauces.

After winning 2 Quality Food Awards in 2019, Mariae and Gerard Hackett approached us to help them scale up their outstanding Malaysian products they produced in their home kitchen.  They also run farmers markets, sell locally and run supper clubs. Their intention was to outsource their products whilst ensuring the quality is maintained and produced in line with their authentic roots…in Malaysia.

We are currently working on this brief and we look forward to seeing the future success of this brand as it comes to market.

Job Role includes;

    1. To support the day-to-day operation of the business and the directors to deliver customer briefs.
    2. The assistance food product developer will be involved in all aspects of the NPD process, supporting projects to create innovative products from initial concepts and product upgrades, through to launch.
    3. To use your knowledge of food science/nutrition from University and apply it into practice for the food industry.
    4. To develop a wide understanding of development and manufacturing across a broad range of food and beverage categories.

FBDC Sponser Q Awards 2018

This year FBDC were honoured to be invited to sponsor the Q awards. We were heavily involved prior to the awards evening and met with many of the shortlisted candidates for the Small Producer Award offering them free workshops and advice.  We were also delighted that our very own James Kingham was nominated for the UK Food Hero Quality Food Award 2018… unfortunately he was pipped to the post by someone else but he remains our hero!
